Account information

BottleStash uses Sign in with Apple. Depending on what you choose to share with Apple, we receive your name and email address (or Apple's private relay email) and a unique account identifier. We never see your Apple ID password.

Bottle photos

When you scan a bottle, whether with the camera or from your photo library, that image is uploaded to our storage and sent to our AI provider for identification. Photos are stored under your account and are not visible to other users.

Your collection and taste data

Every bottle you scan, along with your reactions (tried, liked, passed, want to try), any notes you write, and the taste profile we calculate from that activity, is stored against your account.

Purchase information

If you subscribe to BottleStash Pro, your purchase is handled entirely by Apple and our subscription-management provider, RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status (active, trialing, expired). We never see your card number or other payment details.

Device and usage information

To keep the free trial fair, we use Apple's DeviceCheck to recognize a device that has already used a free trial, independent of the account signed in. We also keep a server-side record of scan timestamps to enforce daily scan limits.

• Identify the bottle in your photo and generate its tasting notes, region, and estimated price.
• Build and refine your taste profile from bottles you've tried, liked, or passed on.
• Enforce free-tier and daily scan limits, and prevent free-trial abuse.
• Manage your BottleStash Pro subscription and entitlements.
• Diagnose and fix problems with the app.

We do not use your photos or collection data to train AI models, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.

We share information only with the service providers that make BottleStash work, each acting on our behalf.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of BottleStash or our users.

We keep your account, photos, and collection for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account from Profile → Delete account, we permanently delete your uploaded photos, your entire collection, your taste profile, and your account record. This action can't be undone.

• Delete your account any time from Profile → Delete account (see the section above for what that removes).
• Camera and photo library access can be turned off any time in your device's Settings; BottleStash can't scan bottles without it.
• Access, correction, or export of your data. Contact us below and we'll help directly.

Bottle identification, tasting notes, pricing, and taste-profile labels are generated by AI and are estimates, not guarantees. They're usually accurate but can be wrong, so always verify anything that matters, like a bottle's authenticity or value, before buying, selling, or drinking.

BottleStash is about alcoholic beverages and is intended only for people who are of legal drinking age in their country or region. It's not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under that age.

We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections and access controls scoped to your own account, to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Our service providers may process your information in the United States or other countries outside your own, which may have different data protection laws than where you live.

We may update this policy as the app changes. We'll update the effective date above when we do, and material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
